Hatha Yoga is a traditional Indian style of yoga. Ha means the Sun, and Tha means the Moon. The practice of Hatha Yoga balances the sun (male) and the moon (female) energies in our bodies. These postures can help to ease pain and are beneficial for back care and injuries, including repetitive strains.
Suitable for Beginners, Hatha Yoga is characterized by it’s alignment and attention to detail. As a safe and sure way to health and well being, extra time is spent in the poses (Asanas) discovering correct alignment and energy flow of the body.
Within his practice, Dean integrates Hatha Yoga in his treatment plans, and sometimes in beginner yoga classes. This assists the patient with easing their pain, by practicing a combination of Hatha standing poses, seated poses, backbends, or abdominal strengthening poses and twists. Sometimes a mixture of all the poses will also be used, depending on the treatment required.
